High Protein Beef Pemmican: 66% beef jerk and 34% beef tallow

Looking for better quality food than you get in most protein bars? Canawa's High Protein Pemmican is made with a slightly higher percentage of beef than our Classic Pemmican. High Protein Pemmican uses 66% grade AAA beef jerky and 34% grass-fed beef tallow. This recipe is a little dryer and thicker than the Classic Pemmican recipe. If you send us an email when you place your order, asking for sea salt to be added we will do that at no extra charge (1 1/2  tsp per lb).

Be aware of similar products touted as real pemmican that may contain too much water and therefore don’t keep as well and don’t contain the same amount of pure protein per serving. Real pemmican is made from fully desiccated (dried) meat which, when combined with fat will keep for long periods of time and provided the quality source of protein and necessary calories to keep early explorers, traders and North American Indians alive during cold northern winters.
